I Wrote the Books I Needed to Read

There was a version of me who was doing everything "right" — working hard, being agreeable, shrinking myself to fit into spaces that were never built for her. She was exhausted. She'd forgotten what it felt like to be powerful.

I didn't find a book that spoke to that woman. So I wrote one. Then another. Then fifteen. The Locked In series was born from the transformation I lived — not the one I was sold.
